The purpose of the Teach in Croydon website is to encourage applications for jobs in schools and colleges in the London Borough of Croydon.

The basis for processing the data is based on your consent, to provide you with information on job posts of potential interest to you.

It should be noted that, for job seekers, registration is entirely optional and not required for anything other than setting up and configuring automated job alerts.

Who is responsible for processing your data?

The Croydon Headteacher Association (CHTA), c/o Riddlesdown Collegiate, Honister Heights, Purley, Surrey, CR8 1EX, United Kingdom (company registration number 09150453) owns the website. They have asked the Octavo Partnership to administer it on their behalf and this work is led by their Recruitment Manager. The technical administration of the site is undertaken by Toolbox Digital.

What information do we collect about you and how do we collect it?

The only personal information we collect from you is your name and email address, when you sign-up for an account with us.

You can provide us with this information via the website. We also attend university recruitment fairs, and have a recruitment fair in Croydon, and if you wish you can give us your details at these events and we will upload them to the website with your consent.

Where you apply directly for a job role, any personal details you supply will be sent to and held within the recruitment files of that school, and not on this website. You should refer to the individual privacy information of the relevant school or college for details about how they will look after your data.

Within our website, we have the facility for you to choose to receive job alerts via email. The job alert process is automated.

What information is automatically collected?

We may also collect personal information as a result of the cookies we use on our website; which are intended to enhance the experience that you get from seeking information online. This information includes:

  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) address, which Is the address you have when connected to the internet, your time zone, your browser information, operating system and platform;
  • More technical information related to your behaviours online, including length of visit, and interactions with web pages.

How we protect your data

We are committed to securing your personal data. We will take appropriate steps to ensure that personal data is not lost, stolen or modified, and that it is used only for the purposes for which it was collected.

We will do our best to protect your data when being transmitted, although we cannot guarantee security due to the inherent risks associated with the internet and the lack of control that we have on third party email systems. Our website uses SSL to ensure all website communications are encrypted and secure.

If you suspect any unauthorised access, misuse or loss of your data please contact us immediately using our contact details and we will respond to the incident in accordance with our obligations to the Information Commissioners Officer (ICO).  If we are made aware of any incident or breach that may potentially affect the data we hold on your behalf then we will inform you of any implications as communicated to us.

Where we store your data and who will see it

Your data will be stored on this website and it can only be seen by the Octavo Recruitment Manager, the System Administrator (Toolbox Digital), and a nominated representative from CHTA. Our website is hosted in the UK with TSOhost.

How long we keep your data

We will remove your data as soon as you ask us to do so. On an annual basis we will contact you to ascertain whether you wish to continue to receive job alerts, and if you do not reply we will remove your data.

Analytics

We use 3rd party analytics services to measure and evaluate access to and traffic on the Public Area of the Site, and create user navigation reports for our Site administrators. These operates independently from us and have their own privacy policies, which we strongly suggest you review.

We take measures to protect the technical information collected by our use of analytics. The data collected will only be used on a need to know basis to resolve technical issues, administer the Site and identify visitor preferences; but in this case, the data will be in non-identifiable form. We do not use any of this information to identify Visitors or Users.
